A Few Of My Favourite Things...

When Spring is in the air it's time to tidy, clean and dust!
And as I was flicking my duster around I thought I'd photograph some of my favourite treasures while the sun was shining!

I think that this little lass must have come off a cuckoo clock but she seems quite happy perched on the edge of my shelf.

(Can't resist a pair of children's shoes!)

This dolls' house is very useful for my scrips and scraps.
(Apologies for the scary clown, I bought him years ago because I was going to use the pieces of beautiful vintage fabric that he's made of, but then he looked at me with those evil clown eyes.........)

This (1960's?) Swiss wall plaque was going to be thrown out by the lady working in the back of the charity shop but I saved him!
(It always worries me about what treasures are thrown away and not even put on the shop's shelves for folks like us.....)

My beloved Sylvac bunnies that I've collected since I was a child.

Some Christmas decorations should be left out all year!

A duck on a caravan, what's not to love!?!

I hope you've enjoyed my little snapshots, have a lovely Sunday chucks X

A Day Out In Sheffield!

I love going vintage shopping in Sheffiled, fancy a mooch around?
( See what I did there?!)
Mooch Vintage is such a friendly store, and it's packed with bargains.
Even Middie enjoyed shopping in here!
Scary selfie....sorry!
Then we pootled down to the very beautiful Collard Manson...
I photographed the rather fabulous street art along the way.
Collard Manson is more like a gallery than a shop, everything is so beautiful and the displays are stunningly curated.
I wanted to buy EVERYTHING!
Sigh...
The weather was glorious, so I settled down with my sketchbook and drew part of the stunning war memorial in the square.
I also sketched some children playing on one of the attractions at the fair.
What with sketching, vintage shopping (bagged a pair of Levi's jeans for £10!) and pizza for dinner, what more could a girl ask for!
Happy days!

Salvage Row...

A couple of weeks ago in Scunthorpe I happened across a shop called 'Salvage Row'.
At first I thought that this was a very swanky upcycled furniture shop, but then realised that it was offering a great service to the community.
Salvage Row is a non- profit making, social enterprise shop that offers support, training and help for vulnerable young people in Scunthorpe and the North Lincs.
Training in furniture restoration, sales and social media is offered to the volunteers, and what fantastic results!
I was so tempted by this old tool chest!
Aargh! Selfie alert!
I think that this is such a wonderful idea and such a great opportunity for the next generation.
And I definitely know where I'll be going when I need some furniture...
