iPad Adventure...

I was very nervous indeed when I finally bought an iPad.

I'd been wanting one for ages but I was worried that I wouldn't be able to fathom out Procreate.

Now that I have a bit of time to have a play I thought that I'd post the video of my first attempt - she's not finished but I had so much fun!

I'd really like to post my progress with this, anyone else having a go with digital art?

And Now For Something Completely Different...

It must be that Spring is in the air but I fancied drawing something a wee bit whimsical and pastel- hued!
Many, many moons ago I had longings to become a fashion illustrator, and even though this never became a reality, I do love to doodle such fancies every now and again....just for old time's sake.
I love using the Pen and Paper app as it is really easy to use.
I find playing with the opacity of the colours really exciting and it reminds me of when I was little and would colour in with felt tip pens.
Happy sketchings!

A Lazy Day...

Have just spent a few days away in Whitby...bliss!
One of my favourite things to do is sitting in tea rooms, people watching and sketching away to my heart's delight.
My little lass and me had a lovely hour or two in a cafe in Robin Hood's Bay.
I loved watching the waitresses bustle about and people pondering over the cakes.
Watching her sketch away in a world of her own makes my heart swell with pride.
Warm fuzzy moment over!
Ha!
My fave app for sketching is Pen and Paper...must try a new one sometime though.
Hope you're enjoying your Easter break too x

My Favourite Things...

One of my favourite things is sitting in a cafe or restaurant and having the time to people watch and sketch.
Sketching on my beloved iPad is my latest obsession (although I feel a pang of guilt every time I cast a sideways glance at my trusty pile of Moleskines).

A Grand Day Out In Lincoln!

Last week we ventured out to Lincoln Cathedral with our lovely BTEC Fine Art students.
No matter how many times I go there, it still is awe inspiring.

I was very proud of how hard they worked.
Look, an official Lincoln Cathedral tea trolley!
I even managed a couple of sketches on my trusty iPad!

We were even granted an audience with the resident cat!
We even managed to pop into the fabulous vintage shop on Steep hill (all in the name of research of course!)
Why didn't I buy these?
Dinner time!
All in all, a grand day out!

Holiday Apps!

My two favourite apps this summer:
My faithful 'pen and paper':
People watching, Porthleven.
Lottie 'poker face' playing Top Trumps with her Dad in the caravan.

Barbara Hepworth. Tate Gallery.
And there's my shiny new app 'Polamatic':
Am obsessed with this app as it has my two fave things ever... Polaroids and masking tape!
Woo!

Playing Around...

I'm still loving my pen and paper app.
Wish there had been something like this little gem when I was at fashion college all those hundreds of years ago!
