There Was A Lady In A Tower....

I forgot to tell you about what I got up to!
(Sorry, think I've over-blogged today!)
Due to general giddiness a few days before the big day, I came over all previous and started to make a something in preparation.
I machine embroidered a blue-tit on a single glove that I bought from Hemswell for 10p (as you do!)
I didn't have a clue what it was going to become but Jessie Chorley's work was so inspirational.
A hidden broken heart...
One of the most amazing techniques I learned was how to make the little hanging loop using blanket stitch.
Can I also thank Mandy, from the very lovely indeed Daisy Moon, for showing me how to start off a blanket stitch, (something I had struggled with since Year 9!)
You are a star!
'You see, there was a lady that lived in a tower.
She needed to tell the man she loved about her true feelings.
So she gave a bird her glove to deliver, as a sign of her affection.
But the bird dropped the glove.
And so the lady died.'
(Just thought I'd tell the story behind the glove for the amusement of the Hope and Elvis ladies again!)
Well, I had been drinking from the Daniel O'Donnell Chalice of Happiness, (only tea mind you, honest!)

Makings At Hope And Elvis!

We all worked, and laughed, really hard yesterday.
Here's just a tiny snippet of the treasures that were created:
My partners in crime!
A day at Hope and Elvis = lots of happy ladies!

Jessie Chorley At Hope And Elvis!

I may have just mentioned before a few times in the past, but Hope and Elvis is my favourite place in the whole wide world.
Louise has recently had an over haul and made her studio even more amazing!
Every day is Christmas Day in Hope and Elvis land!
I even had a cuppa from the Daniel O'Donnell chalice of happiness!
Look at the beautiful work by Miss Chorley:
Jessie was such a generous tutor and everyone had such a brilliant time.
The whole days was just incredible and my head is still buzzing with ideas!
I learnt so many exciting new techniques and Louise always makes sure that everyone is happy and supplied with copious amounts of tea and Tunnocks!
I'll show you what we got up to in the next post, need a cuppa now!

A Little Scrapette:

Just working on a little piece right now, on a scrap of my most favourite bark cloth.
It's not finished and I don't know how it will end up yet.
But that's all part of the fun!

I've Made A Thingummy-jig!

I spent quite a lot of the half term just playing with my scrips and scraps and this kind of emerged from the pile of chaos.
I think it was inspired by a trip to the charity shop where my shopping buddy found one of those silk padded pyjama cases.
I think this would be just the ticket for storing memories and treasures.

A keep-sake-keep-safe-keeper.
