A Grand Day Out In Lincoln!

Last week we ventured out to Lincoln Cathedral with our lovely BTEC Fine Art students.
No matter how many times I go there, it still is awe inspiring.

I was very proud of how hard they worked.
Look, an official Lincoln Cathedral tea trolley!
I even managed a couple of sketches on my trusty iPad!

We were even granted an audience with the resident cat!
We even managed to pop into the fabulous vintage shop on Steep hill (all in the name of research of course!)
Why didn't I buy these?
Dinner time!
All in all, a grand day out!

By Jove! I think it's Finished!

This is the first oval-shaped machine embroidered picture I've made.
I think he looks a little Victorian! a bit like one of those silhouettes.
I really enjoyed stitching and patching the background....is it finished?
Still not sure.

It's So Good to Be Back!

The evil copper wire bandits have visited again.
How dare they, don't they know I have a hungry blog to feed?
But the Wi- Fi is back and I'm one happy girl!
AND I found a charity ch-reasure today for 25p!
He's a little chalk figure with a flat back...I had to bring him home!

Marazion Museum Moochings...

On such a drizzly day like today, do you fancy a little trip out?
I love museums, especially the tiny, quirky ones full of treasures.
In Marazion we like to pop into this little gem.
It's full of local history and the chap who runs it is so passionate and knowledgable, we have a great time no matter how many times we visit on our hols.
Ooo, fancy a cuppa now?

I Love Hebden Bridge!

We've just spent the most fabulous day in the gloriously arty and laid back Hebden Bridge.
I'm ashamed to say that I've never visited before and now I can't wait to go back!
First stop, 'Lucy And The Caterpillar':

As well as gorgeous and quirky vintage treasures, there is a beautiful in- house collection by Lucy Conroy.
She has a lovely Etsy shop called IAMLUCILLE.
Yes, the Bambi tin came home with me!
Alas and alack, the poodle was a little large to smuggle back though!

After all that pootling and rootling around, it was time for dinner.
Now, a little Italian cafe had been recommended, so off we ventured to Marco's.
You may have noticed in previous posts that pizza is one of my weaknesses and obsessions.
For the paltry sum of a measly fiver I had one of the most delicious pizzas I have ever tasted.

The place was full of kids and noise and laughter and I loved it.
I kept telling Lottie how much the place and the food reminded me of when I visited Italy as a child.
And lo and behold, the chef is from Florence!
I will be back!
But the adventure didn't stop as we were driving out of Hebden Bridge, o no!
I managed to persuade my kindly hubby to drop us off at Walkley Clogs...
These were my faves!
Now that's one big clog!
I couldn't decide which pair I loved the most, so I will be visiting their web site very soon!
