Vintage Joy!

As you probably know, I do love a bit of vintage, and here is my Vintage Girl Gang pin by the rather fab Miss Pigeon Vintage herself.

They are limited edition and rather lovely indeed!

And talking of vintage, fancy a pootle around the quirky and characterful town of Pickering?

We enjoyed a steam train journey there from the North Yorkshire Moors Railway.

Mini Goth doc's!

The train carriages were stunning.

Pickering has such charm...

The church of St Peter and St Paul has the most amazing Mediaeval wall paintings inside.

JCS Collectables is full of beautiful vintage clothes and WW2 period uniforms, a real shop of temptation!

There were some really fascinating pieces there.

Look at that gorgeous label!

Birdgate Chocolatiers is completely unbelievable, their chocolate creations are absolutely stunning!

Hubby bought me this one!

Bless him!

After all that, it's time for a cuppa methinks...

A Wonderful Day At Hope &Elvis...

Last Saturday I went with my two chums to a fantastic workshop at Hope & Elvis that was held by Jane Bevan.
Jane makes beautiful sculptures from natural objects, here are some examples...
We started the day by foraging for treasures of our own to use in our work.
Jane also brought a huge selection of treasures for us to play with.

Everyone set to work, it was a really relaxing day...
Jane was a fab teacher and shared so many ideas and materials.
All was calm and peaceful .....
Until I found the Dremel drill!
I had to stop drilling in the end because my teeth were chattering!
Here's what I made (there are lots of holes!)
I had so much fun.
It was incredible how much beautiful work was made, here's just a few examples...
My friend Debs' gorgeous wall hanging incorporating a skull she brought along from the garden.
Look at this lovely sculpture by my friend Sam.
Here's my mate Debs doing the obligatory 'I'm not posing really' pose!
Let's have a cuppa and a mooch around Louise's gorgeous studio...

It was such an inspiring day, full of creativity, wonderful company and probably the best cheesecake I have ever eaten in my life!

Thank you to Louise and Louise and to Jane for a truly happy, happy day xxx
