The Girl In The Clouds

One of the aspects of Mandy Pattullo's work that I most admire is her use of a limited palette, in fact her work has that restrained, sophisticated quality.
Knowing when to 'leave something alone' is something I struggle with in both my stitching and my painting,(some folk may also say that about my talking too!)
Anyways, I took home my little Hope and Elvis scrappy quilt and I did quite well because I didn't start blinging it up until Sunday afternoon!
I'm dreadful, I kept adding a scrap there, stitching a bit here...but I did enjoy myself!
It's funny how strange little stories emerge as you stitch (and bling!)
Would you like to hear the story about The Girl In The Clouds?
The Girl In The Clouds.
Once upon a time there was a little girl.
One day as she was walking to school she found a magic ladder.
She decided that she'd had enough of living on the ground, so up she climbed.
Further and further she climbed up the ladder until she was in the clouds.
When she could climb no more she looked around.
And to her surprise she saw another girl, up there in the clouds and mist.
They smiled at each other and became the best of friends.

and I wish I could add more color to my palette, and use strong opposing colors like you. We all want what we don't got.
