A Love Letter To Cornwall...

Cornwall, here's what I love about you so much...

Your heart-breakingly beautiful cottage garden flowers, bought for pennies at the car-boot.
No fancy bouquets from you, just a generous handful of sheer perfection.

Your delicious fish and chips from Newlyn, queuing behind the fishermen at the chippie.
Followed by the most amazing ice cream from legendary Jelberts.
Any flavour you like...
as long as it's vanilla.

That's what I love the most about you Cornwall,
there's no facade or fakery.
You take it or you leave it.

And it's not just your beauty that inspires me to grab my paint brush, it's your gritty strength, your quirky sense of humour and devil-may-care attitude.

Just be sure to put the jam on before the cream though...

St.Ives Memories...

I'm sat at my computer on a bleak and rainy Sunday and I find myself scrolling through my summer holiday photos.
I thought I'd share a few snap shots of my beloved St.Ives.
This is Mistral's window that I walk past on my way to the Tate St.Ives Gallery.
Every year I promise myself that I'll pop in and have my palm read,
and every year I chicken out!

Here's Middie outside her favourite bakery!
(Do you think she can read?!?)

Every year I also find myself photographing these dustbins.
They make me laugh every time!

How I wish that I was the lucky owner of this little gallery...

I loved these words by Ella Frears...
Sigh...

We spent a lovely week in Whitby over the Easter hols and we were lucky to find that it was also the Whitby Goth weekend.
It's always a great atmosphere, and just look at this little chap I met!

Watch out!
The pirates have landed!

Signs like this make me very happy!

I hope that you all had an adventure-filled holiday chucks!

A Sunny Day Out In Falmouth...

On this rather chilly but beautiful autumn day, I thought I'd share some more of my holiday snaps from the summer.
Fancy a pootle around Falmouth?

First stop... The Kitchen, a lovely little cafe in a beautiful courtyard, just tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the high street.
And on such a sunny day I felt like I was sipping tea in some exotic foreign destination...

I fell in love with this metal bench...
and then fell in love with it even more!

In the same courtyard as The Kitchen is the most tranquil, beautiful plant shop called Toro, and as I have a rather unhealthy plant addiction, I fair did swoon when I walked in!

The air plants were stunning...

Did I happen to mention the air plants?!?...

Not far away, we happened to stumble across Un-Rap, a new, incredibly stylish zero-waste shop.
I was tempted by many things, but bought a big bag of organic chocolate, (and I felt no guilt at all!)

Middie thoroughly settled into Falmouth's laid-back vibe, and enjoyed sampling the gorgeous pizza we had for dinner!

And there was even some time for giant ice cream cone spotting!
Happy days!

Hope you enjoyed our day out chuck!
All the best X

Holiday Snapshots...

I've just been looking through my holiday photos and here are my favourite random snaps from Cornwall.
Just look at this sunset at Sennen Cove!

I stopped off to take this photo on the way to Sennen,
I love this church with its surf board cross.

And just look at this stunning house at The Lizard!

I loved the decorated seagulls I spotted around St.Ives...

And Middie was given a pastie-shaped biscuit at the lovely Poppy Treffry shop in St.Ives!

I spotted this van at Newlyn, this must belong to a pirate!

And how beautiful is this squashed flower I found on the pavement!

These are my favourite dustbins in the whole wide world,
(I must admit that I photograph them every year!)

Hope you enjoyed my holiday snapshots chucks, wishing you a very happy week indeed.
