Girl On A Swing.

Since the Mandy Patullo workshop at the wondrous Hope and Elvis studio, I have really been enjoying working with scraps of antique quilts.
There is something so therapeutic about hand stitching through those soft layers of fabric.
I worry that I will not do it justice, but hopefully I am adding another chapter to its history.

  1. I just Love the idea of working with something somebody long ago worked on too! Like passing the torch of love for sewing. Beautiful!

  3. Lovely! I know what you mean about stitching through those layers. If only it were easier to find scraps like that here. I second radish blossoms words.

  4. This is beautiful. I love the idea of working on top of, over and with some one else's work. It's looking at it is like a mini archeological field trip

    1. Yes, it is like that, I love it when you find fabrics underneath others and when there's fresh fabric hidden under a hem when you've unpicked it and the rest is all faded.
Am I making sense? Probably not! X

I'd love to hear your thoughts, just a minute and I'll put the kettle on.
Custard cream or bourbon?
