On Saturday I had a brilliant day at the eco printing workshop with Joelle Harris, (The Eco Wardrobe Warrior,) at The Steel Rooms in Brigg.
The Steel Rooms has a beautifully light and airy workshop space upstairs and Joelle brought a huge variety of plants, leaves and materials for us to play with.
Joelle showed us her beautiful printed samples before we were let loose!
The beauty of this technique is that you can never really predict what will happen!
It was like Christmas when you unwrapped your bundle!
Soon lots of printed fabrics festooned the workshop space!

I kept a couple of the hydrangea flowers that were left over.

DeleteThat looks like a truly fabulous day. Some of those result would make the most wonderful backgrounds for mixed media etc. Lots of very exciting potential. Not something I have ever explored so I will look out for local opportunities. And the scarves look lovely.

DeleteYour leaf print is stunning. This looks such fun. I once did an erosion bundle project leaving bundles of material / paper with rusty nails etc in different parts of the garden all winter. It was fun !

DeleteTry Mahonia bark shreddings and you get amazing lemon, thru yellows to almost lime dependant on your mordant used. Great results there!

DeleteAlice Fox tied fabric to sea groynes around the rusty bolts on them and achieved wonderful results too :) She did that at Spurn Point in Yorkshire and left them for afew days with the two tides a day washing over the fabric and rusty bits. Stunning. But then rust dyeing is another part of the dye Fun!

DeleteLooks like you had an amazing time. I just did an eco printing workshop here in Oz yesterday. Using various Eucalyptus leaves we printed on a silk and wool scarf I posted pics on my IG page (Sweet Birdy Love) Just wondering were the scarves soaked in a mix of water and vinegar beforehand. Interesting to compare techniques. I got some great colours and it certainly is loads of fun and very addictive....... :)
