A Slightly Bashful Invitation...

I'm not great at exhibition openings and things like that.
But I hope you don't mind me mentioning that I have an exhibition at The Ropewalk in Barton.
Even though I know my Internet friends are scattered all over the world I would like to invite you all anyway!

A Spring Time Frock!

The sun is shining!
Time to get me yellow flowery frock out of the wardrobe!
I made this a while back from a vintage bed sheet.
I just drafted a very simple pattern by drawing round an old favourite.
Although it's not perfect by any means you can't grumble at £2.00 for a jolly Spring time frock can you!
Happy weekend chucks x

And Now For Something Completely Different...

It must be that Spring is in the air but I fancied drawing something a wee bit whimsical and pastel- hued!
Many, many moons ago I had longings to become a fashion illustrator, and even though this never became a reality, I do love to doodle such fancies every now and again....just for old time's sake.
I love using the Pen and Paper app as it is really easy to use.
I find playing with the opacity of the colours really exciting and it reminds me of when I was little and would colour in with felt tip pens.
Happy sketchings!

Pinny Bird

'My Pinny Bird' is a painting for my exhibition that is fast approaching (eek!)

It's about a girl who is never lonely because she has a blackbird nesting in her pinny.
I'm quite proud of her feet!

Beverley Bargains!

Every now and then we take a trip to the beautiful market town of Beverley.
It has a real charm, lots of charity shops, quirky independents and
It's like a Tardis inside, with so much to see...fancy a mooch?
Just look at this little fella!

Eeek!
Even chihuahuas like a bit of bargain hunting!
I couldn't believe how a delicate paper decoration could stay intact!
Hope you enjoyed your pootle, it's goodbye from me...
and it's goodbye from Aled!

Paint, Scraps And Glue...

I've been playing and making a mess.
This makes me very happy.
I have a mixed media/ abstract landscape painting workshop coming up in a couple of months, so I have started to prepare some examples.
I hope this looks a bit like a night time landscape.
Wishing you all a creative playful weekend too chucks!

Daisy Moon At Hope And Elvis (Part Two!)

The morning session flew by in a flash and soon it was dinner time.
Maggie cooked such a lovely meal, we are always spoiled at Hope and Elvis!
We soon all got back to work though, there was a lot to do!
Gone shy Sam?
Miss Debs was on a roll!
I kept eyeing up Jan's shoes!
Look at Di's scissors!
A Hope and Elvis loo shelfie!

Everyone's work was so different, it was so interesting to see the results of a day's stitchings.
Sam was the hexagon Queen!
Here is my little envelope.
I'm now in love with neon thread!
A big thank you to Di for my beautiful necklace, Di teaches jewellery soldering workshops at Hope and Elvis, I'll be looking out for the next one because they always book up very quickly indeed.
And a massive thank you to Louise and Daisy Moon for such a wonderful day!
