Hope And Elvis Day! Hooray!

'There once was a seagull from West Kildaire,
Who was asked to the ball and had nothing to wear.
Spied on the beach a jaunty deck chair,
Snipped and stitched
and danced on air.'

Today was one of the best days of my life, it was the Julie Arkell workshop at the fabulous Hope and Elvis studio.
I'll tell you more about my seagull brooch, and all the adventures and shinanigans when I've calmed down and got my breath back!
So happy.

  1. Even more jealous now. This is going to take more than a bourbon to fix!

  2. ooh, Mrs B, you got to do a Julie Arkell class - on my list of wants to do. Did you see the video that Hope and Elvis put on facebook? Looking forward to your full story.

  3. Can't wait to hear of your adventure ... Sarah x

  4. So lovely to meet you. Didn't we have a lovely day, the sun was shining and we were sewing with Julie!! Still taking it all in, gathering ideas and looking for fabrics!! Did you get any of her pieces? xx

  5. looks like you had a great time at this workshop!!

  6. Thanks for all the lovely comments ladies!
I'm afraid I didn't have the funds to buy a piece, which I would have dearly loved, did you treat yourself Miss Kitty?
I am still all-a-glow from such an inspiring day!
I must have watched that Julie Arkell video a hundred times the night before, it didn't much help my giddiness!
PS: How's about a choccy hob nob instead, Miss CNC?

    1. Oh go on then! I'm so easily swayed! Must, must, must go next time!

  7. Phew! Pleased we're friends again!
Yes, keep your eyes on the Hope and Elvis website, there's lots of delicious work shops to go on!

  8. I got myself a gorgeous watch, 20 past 12, right twice a day!!And a bunny brooch called "tender" I saved my pennines for a very loooonnnng time, haha, xxx

  9. You lucky girl!
I wish I was sensible and could save for an Arkell day, but every time I walk past a charity shop...

Would you like to make a comment chuck?
I'd love to hear your thoughts, just a minute and I'll put the kettle on.
