Looking Back...

I love these precious quiet days.
Time to read a book, catch up with friends and think about the year that has nearly passed.
Thought you might enjoy these photos from my summer holiday in Cornwall.
They seem as chilled out as today.
We don't have enough time to reflect do we?
That might be my New Year's Resolution.

Yule Tide Stitchings...

I think I love the run up to Christmas even more than Christmas Day itself.
(Am I allowed to say that?)
I've even had time for a bit of stitching, these will take quite a while to embroider and embellish, but that's the fun of slow stitch!
I hope that during the preparations you've found the time to do some bits and bobs just for yourself.
Wishing you a very Merry Christmas x

Procrastination...

There's tons to do.
Endless lists.
Present wrapping.
Frantic preparations.
So what do I do?
Play around with scrips and scraps!
(Oh yes....and blog about it!)
Ha!
Hope you're all having fun too chucks x

Christmas Craft Fair...

Last Sunday I went to a wonderfully festive Craft Fair at The Ropewalk in Barton.
As well as lots of beautiful stalls, the resident designers' studios were also open.
Here's the studio of hand weaver/ designer Janine Knight.
Janine makes the most beautiful creatures...
Just look at those ears!
Here is the fabulous studio belonging to Reginald Swinney Illustration:
I loved looking at the inspiration wall (I think perhaps I am just a little nosey!)
I also loved the quirky stall belonging to Carolyn Short.
Just look at these brooches!
Look how funky this Christmas fairy is!
I also had the pleasure to have a chat to Gillian Hobson, she makes the most beautiful glass pieces in her studio.
Nicky Dillerstone also had a stall at the Fair.
I have admired her work for a few years now, and she has a wicked sense of humour.
It was a lovely morning, and I left full of Christmas cheer and bagged a few presents to boot!

Unwrappings..

In the summer I had the good fortune to attend a wonderful workshop at Hope and Elvis, held by the artist Alice Fox.
It was brilliant and Alice shared so many techniques, I blogged about it here.
Some of the samples needed more time and so we took them home.
I rather liked them all wrapped up, but today was the day for the grand unveiling.
It felt exciting and a little sad to unwrap them
As though now they were revealing their secrets, and so there would be nothing else to tell.
(Do I sound a little crazy?)
Anyway, their secrets were beautiful.
I am going to leave this one in his jacket though.
The treasures inside.
I'm going to have fun working with these!
