Away Away...

I've been so fortunate in having the pleasure of seeing the 'Away Away' exhibition by Julie Arkell at the Harley Gallery in Worksop.
I have been a huge fan of Julie Arkell's work for a long time and once attended one of her workshops at Hope and Elvis.
When I walked in, there were so many of her little folk and creatures I half expected them to turn around at look at me.
It was spell binding.

The hotel housed the little brooches that were for sale.
Just look at the papier-mâché twigs!
Knitted shadows...
Love this so much.
I hope you enjoyed having a look around too, thanks for keeping me company.

  6. What a lovely exhibit! But it made me sad, to see the papier mache lady looking out at the world, but no one was looking back at her!

  7. Julie Arkell is a National Treasure and a well kept secret at the same time I always think. Her work is always inspiring and I could find a home for all the Owl Girls. Thanks for sharing.xx

  8. Oh this is so fantastic to see so many of her creatures all together, thank you so much for the photos! You don't say, but do you know if these are all owned by people who have loaned them for her exhibition, or are these all hers and for sale?

Would you like to make a comment chuck?
I'd love to hear your thoughts, just a minute and I'll put the kettle on.
Custard cream or bourbon?
