Journalling...

Have been adding to my journal recently in preparation for my workshop at The Steel Rooms.

There I was, merrily playing with my paints when this emerged...

 

And it's funny because there was something niggling away in the back of my mind, nothing major, just a quiet little niggle.

As they say, the journal never lies!

Scrips And Scraps...

Today was one of those days when I couldn't decide.

Couldn't decide what fabric to choose.

Couldn't decide what picture to stitch.

 

And so I challenged myself to make something out of the scrips and scraps that I could find in my sewing box.

Hope and Elvis Workshop!

I am very excited indeed!

On 22 nd November Mrs B has been very kindly invited back for a pre- Christmas Day of Mixed Media Shinanigans and Stitchery Pokery!

My Mum's booked to bake the cakes (thanks Mum!)

Time For A Stroll...

I feel very lucky because we have a field of rape right behind our house.

I know a lot of people don't like it (or, should I say, it doesn't like them) but fortunately we're not affected by the pesky evil hay fever.

 

In the evening it glows and I just can't seem to get enough of this colour.

It even seems to be seeping into my paintings at the moment!

 

 

And I'm a sucker for cow parsley, it reminds me that summer isn't that far away...

Lurcher Love!

I have been obsessed with lurchers for a long time, often papping them in the street.

(Please excuse the very rough sketch but that's what I work from when I'm embroidering.)

(My poor daughter is well trained in the 'pretend to pose for your mother and then leap out of the way so the poor, unsuspecting pooch can be snapped' technique!)

I have painted lurchers before but never stitched one.

 

He seemed to be in a party mood...

well, it is a Bank Holiday Weekend after all!
