Moomins & Stitchin's!

I'm not sure where this frippery is heading.
I think it might just grow and meander in its own patchworky way.

I'm quite enjoying not knowing where this piece will lead and it reminds me of the book I've just finished, ' Comet In Moomin Land' by Tove Jansson.

'It was a funny little path, winding here and there, dashing off in different directions, and sometimes even tying a knot in itself from sheer joy.(You don't get tired of a path like that, and I'm not sure that it doesn't get you home quicker in the end.)'

Those moomins, so wise you know!

Rock Pooling And Fooling About!

Let's go rock pooling at Marazion!

Lottie is a most intrepid and brave explorer...

Such explorations require careful supervision and interference, direction.
A depository of lost shoes, waiting for their bereft owners...
Time for tea.
(Not crab sarnies though!)

With A Hop, Skip And A Jump!

On Saturday we went for a bracing walk at Barton- Upon - Humber.
As the cobwebs were blowing away nicely, we felt like we were being watched...

Autumn Stitchings.

I've been feeling very Autumnal of late.
This fox keep- sake-keep-safe- keeper has taken me days to make (I think it's because I enjoyed making him and kept adding more and more hand stitching methinks!)
There's a little linen pocket inside for all your treasured letters and photographs.

The thing is, does seeing all the workings on the back annoy you?
I love seeing all the stitchings on the back, it's like the history of the piece, its finger print.
I don't want to put in a lining, I love the feel of the old linen anti- Macassar.
Do you like the back of embroidery?

Charity Ch-reasure Of The Month!

Just look at this beauty!
Yet finding such a ch-reasure can come at a cost.
Not as in money, mind, (£1.99 oh yes,) but as in a guilty conscience ...
You see, I think I've broken my own rules.
A little while ago I drew up the 'Charity Shopping Charter', if you remember. (And many thanks for all your additions to this very important piece of litigation by the way!)
Well, I was completely innocently perusing the table cloths, which happened, perchance, to be next to the 'door of the inner sanctum'.
The door was slightly ajar.
I didn't mean to look in, but that psychedelic fabric was calling me...
Does it count that I saw it and then asked if I could buy?
I didn't actually ask the keeper of the treasures if there was anything of vintage loveliness in the 'inner sanctum'.
A I forgiven?
Could you resist?
Please be kind.

Retail Therapy!

It's been my first proper day back at work today.
I need retail therapy.
This is one of the most beautiful shops I found on holiday:

http://www.wardandwilsonstives.com/clothing.html

I'm just going to enjoy the photos without bothering you with my usual bletherings.
Come on, let's mooch.

Look, even their business card is a work of art!

Tis fine establishment sells pre- worn designer clothing, accessories and jewellery at really reasonable prices.
It's like visiting a gallery of clothes!
