I walk into the charity shop with a bag of donations, feeling all self righteous inside.
I leave with a beautiful, but somewhat large, vintage plastic stag's head, complete with honking great cow bells.
Feelings of smugness and de-cluttered soul cleansing are replaced with joy and giddiness.
I would die for that....I would be so excited i would probably be sick in the shop!!
ReplyDeleteYou see I have one just like it only with a Barometer that works....(Fair Tomorrow!)

Post a pic soon!
DeleteWe've all been there Mrs B . . . there's just no way you could have left without him!
ReplyDeleteThat is just absolutely awesome! :-)
ReplyDeleteBizarrely wonderful!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much chucks.
ReplyDeleteI was starting to doubt myself because hubby was not feeling the love at all and the lady in the charity shop looked embarrassed for me!

Sorry Mrs B, I'm happy you got him but I just don't feel the love for stag heads like you do. You made me laugh all the same especially the fact that the cs lady looked embarrassed for you. Enjoy him though won't you.

Thank you for your honesty Miss Bobo Bun.
ReplyDeleteI am surprised in fact, that any one else does like him!
Pleased you had a chuckle though!
By the way, LOVE your new stitchery, I think I will have to get that book of delights myself!

I didn't want to hurt your feelings but couldn't help myself. As for the book, seeing a picture of how your daughter dresses a few posts back I think the styles will really suit you. I can't afford Noa Noa anymore but I reckon I'll get something more original this way. Look forward to seeing any of your makes too x
ReplyDeleteMiss Bobo Bun, you could never hurt my feelings, you should have heard what hubby called it!
ReplyDeleteI really do feel inspired by your stitchings I'll keep you posted!

I've had that reaction from girls behind the counter. I think he's wonderful!
ReplyDeleteCheers Patty, sometimes the treasure is worth the humiliation! X
