Care To Dance?

It's been a while since I blogged a step-by-step, I wondered if you'd like to see how my latest machine embroidery developed?

I wasn't too careful when I placed the fabric scraps because I wanted to create a 'sketchy' quality.

Then I thought she looked a bit lonely...

You can see how much I use my trusty post-its!

Time to design some finery!

I think that she would like some lace!

You can see how loosely you can place the fabric pieces before stitching...

His tail was quite tricky to stitch.

  1. Ahhhhh Mrs B. they make such a lovely couple !!!

Great to see all the steps. These are teeny-tiny bits you're using ... No trouble keeping them in place ? (sewing through your fingers isn't nice !!!)
    Lovely old background too !!!

    1. Thanks Els, I use a tiny blob of fabric glue to hold the scraps in place, its too painful if you don't!!!!! x

  2. How do you adhere the fabric? Or do you just hold it down with a finger tip and catch it in place with thread? Post it notes! Genius!

    3. Hello Diny, I've not had that problem (touch wood) but I use small amounts and always make sure that it's thoroughly dry before stitching x

    1. You just need a machine embroidery foot, they're quite cheap to buy, you just need to check that it will fit your machine x

I'd love to hear your thoughts, just a minute and I'll put the kettle on.
Custard cream or bourbon?
